Obituary of Douglas Graham Cassell

Douglas Graham Cassell, age 88, of Wytheville, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023. He was born on March 19, 1935, to the late John Caddell and Pearl Umberger Cassell. Doug was a veteran of the US Army and retired from the shirt factory. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Gracie; their beloved daughter, Susan Overstreet; along with his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his three sons and daughter-in-law: James and Janice Cassell of TN; Dwight Cassell of TX; Thomas Cassell of Wytheville; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Joe Mack Taylor officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Mt Pleasant Cemetery fund (225 Tremough Drive Wytheville VA 24382).
