Obituary of Marvin Marzell Blair

Marvin Marzell “Tunce” Blair age 78, of Ivanhoe, passed away on October 3, 2023. He was born on May 9, 1945 in Wythe County to the late Paul Clark and Mamie Louise Roberts Blair. Tunce was a Veteran having served in Vietnam with the Army in the 82nd and 101 Airbourne. He was a member of the Hillsville V.F.W. and the Ivanhoe Odd Fellows. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Clark Blair. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Gwendolyn Maureen Jackson Blair of Ivanhoe; daughter, Heather Blair Pearman of Wytheville; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Terri Blair of Max Meadows; two granddaughters, Brittany Blair (Dan Corvin) of Max Meadows; Emily and L.B. Brier of Ashville, NC; six siblings, Carl “Gump” and Deni Blair of Ivanhoe; Nancy and Benny Sparks of Ivanhoe; Jerry Dewayne “Pedro” Blair of Rural Retreat; Barry Wayne and Dona Blair of Ivanhoe; Alice Blair of Ivanhoe; Gerald Lee and Melissa Blair of Wytheville; beloved dog “Jack” and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends and family. Funeral service will be held 10 A.M. Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Grubb Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Ingo officiating. Interment will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ivanhoe where the Hillsville V.F.W will conduct Military Rites. The family will receive friends from 9 until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
