Obituary of Ronald Cleveland Maynard

Ronald Cleveland Maynard, age 77, of Wytheville passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023. He was the son of the late Homer and Inez Maynard. He was preceded in death by sisters Janna Maynard Tatro and Donna Maynard Marshall. Ron was a Vietnam veteran while proudly serving in the US Marine Corp. He was an avid woodworker while his true passion was fishing and being outdoors. Ron served as head deacon at Open Door Church. He was always willing to lend a hand. Ron is survived by children Rhonda Maynard Cyr of Charleston, SC, Rodney Maynard (Tina) of Red Springs, NC, Jennifer Maynard Mills (Matt) of Wendell, NC and Heather Nolen of Roanoke, VA; sisters, Sharlyn Logan of Fayetteville, NC and Pam Talbot of Fayetteville, NC; 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Open Door Church at 5814 W. Lee Hwy, Rural Retreat, VA from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 2:00.
