Obituary of Myrtle Ethel Martin

Myrtle Ethel Martin age, 80, of Barren Springs, passed away on November 28, 2023. She was born on February 17, 1943, in Virginia to the late Harless and Helen Henley Lawson. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Sambo Lawson, Stanley Lawson and Matthews “Monk” Lawson; two sisters, Frances Cook and Becky Clark. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Wayne Hounshell of Bland; three sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Robin Hodge of Abingdon; Jeff Hodge of Dublin; Tim and Leasa Hodge of Roanoke; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Randy Andrews of TN; Charlotte and Laymen Alexander of Hiwassee; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held 1 P.M. Monday, December 4, 2023, at the Riverview Church of God with the Reverend Eddie Dalton officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of the service on Monday at the church.
