Obituary of Ann Wolfenden Coeburn

Ann Wolfenden Coeburn, 83, of Wytheville, VA, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023. Ann was predeceased by her brother Bobby, husband Richard, and son Jeff. She is survived by her son Rick, daughter-in-law Laura, and grandchildren Cash & Holland. She also has beloved sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Ann was born on October 28, 1940 to Robert & Lois Wolfenden in Wytheville, VA. She graduated high school in Wythe County and received a bachelor’s degree from Radford University, VA. Ann continued to reside in Wythe County and married Richard Wayne Coeburn on July 24, 1971, and went on to have two sons Rick & Jeff. She will be fondly remembered as teaching at Spiller Elementary for 30+ years. After retirement in the early 2000s, Ann enjoyed spending her time with the Ladies of the Roundtable. You could often find her having a meal at Virginia Heights Restaurant with dear friends. She also loved vacationing with her friends to Outer Banks, NC, and spent memorable time with her grandchildren in Cary, NC. Memorial service will be held 2 P.M. Friday, December 22, 2023, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow in the East End Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12 noon until service time.
