Obituary of James Johnson Brinkley
James Johnson Brinkley, age 78 of Crockett, Va passed away on December 21, 2023. He was the son of the late Howard Brinkley and Mabel R Brinkley. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Wanda, his brother Tommy Brinkley, his sisters, Ginger Cassell, Patsy Brinkley, sisters n law Shirley Schuster, Lojean Moore and nephew David Brinkley.
Jim and Wanda were in the construction business for 43 years owner of Brinkley Plumbing and Heating and 30 years farming Sugar Family Farm he loved to move the earth with a backhoe. After retiring full time, they went to work full time on the farm raising cattle.
He is survived by his daughter Rhonda Cox, brother Joe Dick Brinkley (Carmen), granddaughter Meagan Robinson (Brandon), Jay Cox (Chelsey), great grandchildren Warren, Tanner and Sylar Robinson and Connor Cox. Brother n law John Moore, nephews, Tony Moore (Kimberly), Joey Brinkley (Rita) niece Lucy Blackburn (Carlton) and Maggie (his dog) several great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Jennifer Tarter (PCP) and her nurse Dorothy Fariss at Carilion Family Medicine also his other caregivers who provided care and the staff at the Hospice House of Bristol, for his end of life care.
