Obituary of Richard Shannon Kent

Richard Shannon “Buddha” Kent age 33, of Max Meadows, passed away on December 31, 2023 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Illinois on November 8, 1990 to the late father, Richard W. Kent and his mother Mary DeAnne Kent. Shannon was an avid Heavy Metal Music fan and concert attendee; he was an avid gamer and loved playing with his brothers. He was an employee of Volvo in Dublin. He was a gentle giant with a huge heart and his smile would lift so many. His quick wit and loving nature could make anyone love him. Shannon never spoke a harsh word to or about anyone. He was truly the best of us and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his brother, Austin Kent. Survivors include his mother, DeAnne Kent of Max Meadows; brother, Jimmy Kent and AnDee Johnson of Jacksonville, NC; extended family, Cyndi and Larry Bryan, Joshua Bryan, Larry Bryan, Jr. and Heather Lieggi, Jacob Bryan, nephew, Hadien Bryan, Gaven Burnette, Brady Keith, Carlos Wilenski, Kandy Kent, Kelly Kent, Kent McPeak and many other family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 P.M. on Monday January 8, 2024 at the Grubb Funeral Home with Wade Whisman officiating.
