Obituary of Anna Elizabeth Funk

Anna Elizabeth "Betty" Funk, age, 91 of Speedwell, VA passed away Thursday January 4, 2024. Betty was born on February 22, 1932, the daughter of the late John William "Tom" and Margaret Russell Hale. Betty was a loving mother, mother in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a great cook. Betty always wanted to make sure anyone who came through her door was fed and taken care of. Her family and faith meant everything to her. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband Dewey Trenton Funk, her grandson James "Chris" Brewer and three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Anna and Paul Townley, her son and daughter-in-law, JW and Sherri Funk and son and daughter-in-law, Trenton and Tonya Funk. Sister, Margaret Virginia "Jenny" Hale. Grandchildren Stephen Funk and Laura, Scott Funk and Bobbie, Carie Brewer, and Kristen Funk. Great grandchildren, Alyson, Jameson, Jackson Funk, Mila and Ava Funk. A special niece Janet Copenhaver and many other nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the sitters and Hospice who all took great care of Betty. A graveside service will be held 2 P.M. Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Speedwell United Methodist Church Cemetery for family and friends conducted by Reverend Doug Stuart.
