Obituary of Robert Lee Bowen

Robert Lee Bowen age 92 of Max Meadows passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017. He was the son of the late Grover & Bessie Brown Bowen, a member of The Open Door Baptist Church Christiansburg, Va. and was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Robert is survived by his wife Myrtle Lou Bullins Bowen of Max Meadows; daughters, Nancy Lee Ernest of Maryland, Susan R. Lupo of Maryland; honorary children, Denise Byroade Sanchez, Dennis Byroade; grandchildren and spouses, Tamara & Ali Jafri, Robert & Marie Dunham, Jennifer & Sean Rhine, Caitlin & Aaron Lebo, Jonathan Ernest, Molly Ernest; adopted grandchildren, Philip Johnston, Sam Johnston, April Craig, Aaron Johnston; great grandchildren, Lauren & Ethan Jafri, Sean & Kyle Rhine, Christian, Victor & Cheyenne Dunham; beloved pastor and close family friends, Pastor Mike & Crystal Johnston; his feline companion, Wobbly. Funeral Service will be held 2 PM, Saturday January 28, 2017 at the Jubilee Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Mike Johnston with interment to follow in the St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday January 27, 2017 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel from 6 to 8 PM. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
