Obituary of Mark Stevens Ogle

Mark Stevens Ogle, aged 65, of Max Meadows, Virginia, passed away on August 13, 2024, after a 16 year hard fought battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born on July 12, 1959, in Wytheville, he was a man deeply devoted to his family and faith. Mark is remembered as a loving husband of 33 years to Suzanne Ogle. He was a cherished son of Patsy Ogle and brother to Teresa Collins, (Darrell), Mark was a caring father to Michael Ogle (Crystal), Micah Sheffey, Daughter in law Samantha Sheffey, and Courtney King (Chadwick). Mark was a very proud grandfather to Brooklyn and Jacob Ogle, Kensley and Tripp Sheffey, and special granddaughter, Carissa Smith. He also left nieces, Lisa Ogle, Vanessa Collins, Victoria Gravley and Brandy Albert. Mark had two nephews, Duane Ogle and Jonathan Paxton. Mark's life was a testament to his passions, which included hunting with his sons and taxidermy. He was also a very naturally talented musician who loved singing and playing music at church, as well as jam sessions with friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm Ogle, and brother, Sam Ogle. Mark's legacy of love, outdoor adventures, and melodious life will be forever cherished by those who knew him. Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Reverend Mike Johnston. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 P.M. until service time. A graveside service will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday August 21, 2024, at Mt. Mitchell Methodist Cemetery in Wytheville.
