Obituary of Ronald Leon Corvin

Ronald Leon Corvin, age 80, peacefully left his earthly home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Monday September 16, 2024. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Charmie Corvin. Surviving are his devoted wife of 31 years, Sue Corvin, sister, Doris Armstrong of Wytheville, his treasured daughter, Rebecca Owens and husband Scott of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, stepsons, Rick Graham and wife, Jessica of Jeanette, PA, Randy Graham of Barron Springs, VA, grandsons Brian Christopher Mustard of Winston-Salem, NC, Jordan Mustard of Thomasville, NC and RJ Graham and wife Amanda of Jeanette, PA, granddaughters Ashley McNeil of Gastonia, NC, Charmie Owens of Hattiesburg, MS and Josie Graham of Jeanette, PA and four great grandchildren. Ron’s work experience included 10 years at Alco controls, but he would go on to retire from Hutchinson Sealing Systems in Wytheville. Ron was known for his dedication and strong work ethic, although what he was most widely known for was being a man who could make anything out of wood. Ron was a gifted artist, painter, and master wood craftsman. His creations can be found in homes throughout the US and internationally. From the simplest picture frames and decorative wall shelves to rocking horses, spinning wheels, China cabinets, kitchen, islands, and more. He would often take wood that others would have thrown away and turned it into beautiful purposeful creations. His most beloved creations were his trains, intricately detailed, all wood works of art. Ron was a true example of integrity and faith. His calm and steady demeanor, kind heart and loving spirit have left a lasting legacy, and his absence will be felt for years to come. Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Reverend Darren Smith, with the interment to follow in the West End Cemetery.
