Gloria was born in Wytheville, VA on January 30, 1954, daughter of the late Nellie Gole. She is preceded in death by her one and only true love, husband Danny Kay Bowers, daughter, Betty Sue Bowers; mother, Nellie Gole Tilton; brother, Gary Lee Marshall and sisters, Ella Turman. She is survived by her children, Ricky Bowers and daughter-in-law Brita Stowers of Bland VA, April Williams and son-in-law, Heath Williams of Woodlawn VA, Gene Bowers and daughter-in-law, Joyce Bowers of Galax VA; sisters, Linda and Mary Marshall, Special Brothers-in-law, Richard and Charles McGee. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren Kayleigh Bowers who was her nana’s best friend and (Partner in Crime), Mariska Bowers, Preston Hollandsworth, Joshua Bowers and wife Kristen Bowers, Christian Jones, Landon Wild, Jaxton Lenzi, Alexis Johnson and husband Jake Johnson. Great-grandchildren, Ben and Eli Bowers, and Lainey Mae Johnson. Bonus children Jordan Duncan, Ali Hodge, Lundy Seabolt, Jeff and Dewey Bowers and several nieces and nephews.
Gloria was a homemaker where she raised 4 children and 4 generations of grandchildren. There was nothing more in life that made her happier than being with her grand babies. She inherited the nickname baby whisperer; she had something about her that babies loved. One of her favorite things to do was to get up at 5 in the morning getting her kids and grandchildren ready for school. Gloria has always been one of the most kind, soft-spoken souls and always had a smile no matter what. She was a caregiver at heart and a true definition of a mother. She never had much to say but when she did talk to you know you were always welcomed in her home. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music but was an avid Conway Twitty and George Jones fan.
