Obituary of David Rex Cline, Sr.
David Rex Cline, Sr. age 79, of Wytheville, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024. He was born April 20, 1945, the son of the late Charlie M. and Mildred Crigger Cline and was a United States Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty “Tob” Amburn, Virginia “Sissy” Cullop; brothers Jacob “JC” Cline, James Earl “Jim” Cline.
David is survived by his wife, Peggy Jean Cline; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Mark Wheeler of Barren Springs; son, David Rex Cline, Jr. and Kim Fields of Wytheville; grandson who was thought of as a son, Zach and Amanda Wheeler of Fort Chiswell; sister, Shirley Thomas of Speedwell; brother and sister-in-law, James Edward “Eddie” and Bonnie Cline of Wytheville, special friends, Randy Phillippi of Wytheville, Hubert “HL” Smith of Wytheville; 7 very special grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Rick Krietemeyer, Brad Stuart, and HL Smith, with a graveside service being held Thursday at 2 P.M. at the Southwest Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery in Dublin.
