Obituary of James Woodrow "JW" Grubb
James Woodrow “JW” Grubb, age 76, of Blackstone, VA, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Bridges Grubb of Blackstone; his daughter, Jennifer Grubb; grandson, James Preston “Jake” Leonard, both of Crewe; eight sisters, Mary Sue Tomey, Alice Brewer, Barbara Littreal (Steve), Virgie Kincer, Evelyn Kincer (Wayne), Jackie Krug (Bob), Linda Liddle (Joe) and Sheila Grubb; and a brother, Ricky Grubb. JW is preceded in death by his parents, Eula Bralley Grubb and James Walter Grubb.
JW was retired from the U S Department of Defense, Fort Pickett, VA as an electrician and was presently employed as a senior electrician with the Virginia Department of Military Affairs, Fort Pickett, VA.
The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2017, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Road (Bus. Hwy. 460), Blackstone, VA 23824. Visitation will also take place 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2017, at Grubb Funeral Home, 215 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA 24382. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 8, 2017, in Berea Christian Church, 996 Berea Road, Wytheville, VA, with U S Navy military rites and burial to follow in the church cemetery.
