Obituary of Forrest Luke Seagle, Jr.

Forrest Luke Seagle, Jr., age 91, of Wytheville, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017. He was the son of the late Forrest Luke, Sr. & Manilla Hobbs Seagle.  Forrest was a US Navy veteran, a dedicated member of the First Christian Church, and received the Emeritus Deacon Award. He is preceded in death by a son, Forrest Luke Seagle , III; son-in-law, Robert A. Bowen; sister, Evelyn Draughn; brothers, Bernard Seagle and Harold Seagle. He is survived by his wife, Margaret S. Seagle of Wytheville; daughters and son-in-law, JoAnn Bowen of Roanoke, Kathryn and Mark Szwargulski of St Louis; step-daughter and spouse, Sandra and David Sowers of Mt. Pleasant, SC; step-son and spouse; step-son & spouse, Wayne & Faye Sutherland of Wytheville; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by The Reverend George Hamm and The Reverend Preston Sartelle, with interment to follow in the West End Cemetery. The American Legion Post # 9 will conduct Military Graveside Rites. The family will receive friends, Friday, May 26, 2017, at Grubb Funeral Home from 6 until 8 P.M. Flowers are appreciated or donations can be made to First Christian Church Relay for Life, 140 S.10th Street, Wytheville, Va. 24382.
