Obituary of Mary Evelyn Davidson Jackson
Mary Evelyn Davidson Jackson, March 1, 1921 - July 31, 2017, passed away peacefully on July 31 at 96. She was born in Crockett, VA, the oldest daughter of the late John and Eva Davidson. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee S. Jackson, Sr.; sons, Lee S. Jackson, Jr. and John A. Jackson; brother, JA Davidson.
She is survived by her son Henry G. Jackson of Wytheville; daughter Patty A. Jackson of Roanoke; brother, Richard Davidson and wife Julie of Abingdon; sisters, Helen Etter and Shirley Blankenship; brother-in-law Rab Etter; granddaughters Michelle Poole and Jamie Jackson; two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, all of Wytheville. Evelyn was a talented seamstress, working for many years at Jafree Shirt Co, and at Wythe Co. Vocational School prior to retirement. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and loved to work in her flower garden. She was a loving mother and special friend to many and an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
A memorial service will be held 3 P.M. Friday, August 4, 2017 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Friday from 2 P.M. until service time.
