Obituary of Carl Fred Brown

Carl Fred Brown, age 88, of Wytheville, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017. He was the son of the late James and Nan Hale Brown. Fred retired from Jafri Shirt Factory with 43 years of service and was a member of the First Christian Church in Wytheville. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Tarter and Rose Anna Osborne, brothers, Clarence Brown, Garnet Brown, Con Brown and Lonnie Brown. He is survived by his wife, Martha Lee Williams Brown of Wytheville; daughters, Kathy Brown of Bluefield, VA, Mary Ann Brown of Wytheville; sons and daughter-in-law, Freddie Lee Brown of Wytheville, Mike and Vanessa Brown of Wytheville; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by The Reverend Preston Sartelle and The Reverend Gary Houseman with interment to follow in Berea Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 A.M. until service time or at the home anytime.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Berea Christian Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Sandra Ferguson, 500 S. Petunia Road, Wytheville, VA 24382.
