Obituary of James Roger Callahan

James Roger “Jimmy” Callahan of Wytheville, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017. He was the son of the late James Andrew and Ann Lindamood Callahan, member of the Fairview United Methodist Church and served in the United States Army. Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolly Weller Callahan and second wife, Stella Katherine Williams Callahan and a brother, Pat Callahan. He is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Randolph & Katie Callahan of MN, Reid & Bobbie Callahan of Winchester, VA, Barbara Callahan of NC; step children and spouses, John M. II & Zettia Davis of Wytheville, Jackie & Sammy Umberger of Rural Retreat, Elizabeth Davis of Greenville, TN, James H. “Pete” & Becky Davis of Rural Retreat, Ardith & Charles Ward of Rural Retreat, Deanie & Larry Dobbins of Wytheville, Donnie “Midget” Miller of Crockett; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Jim & Janie Williams of Wytheville, Joe and Jean of Ohio, John and Dollie Williams of Wytheville, George and Mary Ann Williams of Rural Retreat, Danny Underwood of Draper, Janie and Carl Harmon of Max Meadows, Ruby and Johnny Tickle of Draper, Edna and Ricky Parks of Wytheville, Agnes Williams of Wytheville; step-daughter-in-law, Rita Moss of Mt. Airy NC; several nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.

Funeral Service will be held 3 PM, Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Fairview United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend Aubrey Whitlow with interment to follow in church cemetery. The American Legion Post #9 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 PM until service time at the church.
