Norma Jean was one of the kindest people I have ever known. She always had a smile and a kind word for anyone who entered the office of the Wythe County Technology Center. I enjoyed working with her throughout my years at the Wythe County School Board and everyone in the school system loved her dearly. Heaven has gained an angel and she will be sorely missed among her family, friends, and acquaintances here on earth.

Norma Jean and I share so many stories and memories. I will always cherish all the cards with clippings that she sent and the "beach book" she made all of us several years ago when all "the womens" went to the beach!!! Linda Carpenter took the pictures and Norma Jean organized and wrote the "beach book"!!! lol We really had some great times with all the beach buddies and memories that will last a lifetime. I was Blessed to know such a sweet lady!!
Family you are in our thoughts and prayers!!

Dear Brian And Venita, I was sorry to read of your mom’s passing in this mornings paper. Norma Jean was a beautiful person inside and out and the Queen Esther class enjoyed having her as a class member when she lived here. And we always enjoyed having her visit our class after she moved back to Wytheville. Now she rests in her heavenly home.

Norma Jean was a precious Christian woman who loved her Lord, her family, her church family, and her friends. She was such an inspiration to us while we were at WBC those fourteen months. She continued to send us notes after we left. She will be missed!! We are so sorry that we will not be able to attend her service. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time. We were blessed to know this wonderful woman.

We are all going to miss Aunt Sis' loving smile and her sweet letters to remind us all of both what we were accomplishing and how proud she was of every member of the family, near and far...no matter what they or their children and grandchildren had done.
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone as we go through this sad time and realize that a true family reunion is going on in heaven.
(Uncle Jim, Uncle Louis, and Dad will probably be a little frustrated that they have to start taking orders again from Sis...)

Brian,
Your mother was a dear friend and main supporter of my work. I have many happy memories of her bright smile and sweet nature working with her through the years covering events at the Wytheville Baptist Church and working with her at the Wythe County Technology Center before I graduated high school. She was a sweet spirit that I will never forget. I am thankful she is now free of pain and strife. You carry on her spirit so well, brother. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Love and blessings,
Zach, Emily and Bella
