Obituary of Patricia Darnell Thomas

Patricia Darnell Thomas, age 68, of Speedwell passed away January 4, 2019.  She was born in Rural Retreat on July 17, 1950 to Mr. Lawrence Mack and Mrs. Violet Opal Miller Cassell.  Darnell was preceded in death by her father and a sister Shirley Eanes. She was retired from Wytheville Community Hospital with over 40 years of service.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, James “Bo” Thomas of Speedwell; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Richard Burton of Speedwell; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Andrea Thomas of Clover, SC; four grandchildren, Morgan Dean and husband Michael, Baylie Burton, Dillon and Caroline Thomas; two nieces Angie Potts and Amy McClanahan.      

The Thomas family would like to extend a special thank you to the Nursing staff of the 7th floor at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for all their help and care that “Ms. Pat” received.

Memorial services will be held 7 P.M. Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Grubb Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Bell officiating.  Inurnment will be 11 A.M. Tuesday in the Groseclose Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
