Obituary of Thomas Franklin Topham, JR.

Thomas F. Topham, Jr., 88, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, March 3rd. He was a life-long resident of Wytheville, VA. Tommy was born December 2, 1930 to the late Thomas F. Topham Sr. and Ozella C. Topham. He is preceded in death by his sisters: Francis Bolton and Dorothy Tarter, and brother, Ben Topham, Sr. Tommy served in the U.S. Air Force as a patrolman from 1951-1955. After his discharge he was employed by Norfolk and Southern Railway, retiring after 35 years.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Fay Catron Topham, brother-in-law Garland Catron (Barbara) of Wytheville, VA nieces: Terrie Reilly (Kevin) of Maryville, TN, Susan Blair (Ernie) of Wytheville, VA, Kim Cregger (James) of Wytheville, VA, and Sandy Catron; nephews: Tim Topham (Traci) of Maryville TN, Ben Topham, Jr., of Charlotte, NC, Dale Catron of Wytheville, VA; special nephew, Tam Topham of Wytheville, VA and several great nieces and nephews. Tommy will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

Funeral service will be 2PM Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Reverend Gary Houseman, with interment to follow in the West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12 noon until service time.
