Obituary of Gary Wayne Hedrick

Gary Wayne Hedrick, age 67, of Rural Retreat Passed away on Monday March 4, 2019.  He was born on September 16, 1951 to the late Sidney Walter and Mae Cline Hedrick.  Gary was a retired Sprinkler Mechanic at BAE (Radford Army Ammunition Plant).  He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Margaret “Peggy” Hedrick and a sister Carolyn Hedrick Snavely.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Nichole and David Phillippi of Wytheville; Lindsay and Dyer Jackson of Fort Chiswell; two brothers and sisters-in-law; Roger and Audrey Hedrick; Richard Leon and Vanessa Hedrick all of Rural Retreat; five grandchildren, Paeton Phillippi, Blair Jackson, Kendall Phillippi, Owen Jackson and Marion Dyer “JAX” Jackson, IV; several nieces and nephews and a host friends.

Graveside service will be held 2:30 P.M. Monday March 11, 2019 at West End Cemetery Mausoleum with Pastor Jonathon Hamman officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 P.M. Monday at the Grace Lutheran Church in Rural Retreat.  In lieu of flower memorial can be sent to the UVA Children’s Hospital Att: Angel Sims P.O. Box 800773 Charlottesville, VA 22908-0773.
