Obituary of Jean Layne Blankenship

Jean Layne Blankenship, age 89, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Ira and Ethel Mae Lindamood Layne. Jean was a retired Pulaski County School Teacher she was preceded in death by her husband, William David Blankenship and a sister, Joyce Layne Simpkins. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Doris Layne of Wytheville; niece and nephew, Damon and Rhonda Layne of Wytheville, Danette and Brian Sherwood of Roanoke; great nieces, Megan Layne, Ashley Layne, Morgan Layne, Chalee Juba; great-great niece, Laci Mae Lyons.

Funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow in the Mt. Pleasant Community Cemetery.
