Obituary of Mattie L. Scott

Mattie L. Scott, age 93, of Wytheville, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Roy & Kate Callahan Lambert. She was preceded in death by her husband William Howard “Bud” Scott; sisters, Betty Hall, Mildred Pugh; brother, Ray Lambert. She was a lifelong member of Fairview United Methodist Church. Mattie is survived by her daughter, Elaine Scott of Wytheville; sons and daughters-in-law, Danny & Nancy Scott, Gary & Sandy Scott, Keith Scott, Greg & Lisa Scott all of Wytheville; sister, Katherine Horton of Richmond; brother Roy S. “Bud” Lambert of Michigan; granddaughters & spouses, Stacy & Chris Burkett, Elizabeth & Jason Morris, Samantha & Matt Nipper, Kaitlin Scott, and Kelly & Tbo Reed all of Wytheville; step-granddaughter & spouse, Melaine & Frankie Scott of Wytheville; 12 great grandchildren and one step- great grandchild also survive.

Funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Fairview United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend Ted Anders and The Reverend Aubrey Whitlow, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 1 P.M. until service time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Fairview Church Cemetery fund C/O Libby Ingo, 190 E.
