Obituary of Beatrice V Slack-Shearwood

Shearwood, Beatrice Slack, age 92 of Amityville, New York and formally of Wytheville, VA, Died on September 26, 2019.  She was born October 22,1926 to the late Joseph N. and Evelyn Beacon Slack.  She was educated in New York and graduated Katerine Gibbs School in Manhattan.  She married Benjamin Franklin Shearwood in 1959. He preceded her in 2008.  Beatrice is also preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel D. Slack and William J. Slack.  Beatrice worked for the Long Island University in the athletic department, The University of Georgia in the Agricultural Department, Branch & Co. Stockbrokers in Richmond, VA and retired from the Bank of America in Wytheville, VA.  She was a devoted member of the Wytheville Baptist Church and held many offices in the church.  She was Charter Member of the Wytheville Quota Club.  She had many special friends and also enjoyed playing golf and bridge.

She is survived by her brother, Joseph C. Slack of Amityville, New York and many nieces and nephews all of whom she loved dearly.
