This is Donna Anderson again! I just wanted to add another picture of Susan when she was healthier. She was such a beautiful lady. She never met a stranger and loved life and lived it to the fullest. She had a tough life the last few years but we know she is out of pain and at peace now. We do miss her terribly.

i am so sorry to hear of Susan's passing. I have many fun and fond memories of Susan. She and I used to run around together back when she worked at the radio station. I credit her for teaching me how to really drive a straight shift when she taught me to drive her 4-speed Camaro, especially how to pull off on a hill without killing the engine. I know her health has been poorly in the last few years, but I am so sorry to hear her passing. Fly high, Susan!

Donna, Thank you for the happy memories! She was a character! She loved life. She died in her sleep. I believe it was you that she talked about recently when she moved back to Wytheville. She was fond of you too! Thank you again!

Susan, my baby sister, never thought you’d be the 1st to leave us. I remember being a little mother to you. After all, I was 8 years older than you. I remember a time when you were just a toddler entertaining the whole family. You were standing on our dining room table taking oranges from a bowl and throwing them to, or at us, I don’t know which, but the more everyone laughed the more encouraged you were to keep throwing oranges! You were so entertaining!
When you were born, Mom and Dad had a different name picked out for you, but for the life of me, I can’t remember what it was now. I told them I didn’t like that name. So they asked me what I thought your name should be, and I said Susan Ann. And to my surprise, that’s what they named you. I was delighted!
I remember what a free spirit you were. You made friends wherever you went and your friends loved you and you loved them. You were determined and courageous. You were generous and kind. You lived your life like there was no tomorrow. You sang and loved karaoke. And oh, how you loved to party! I remember you invited the whole family down to Jacksonville, Florida for your 50th birthday. What a birthday bash it was! Great memories of you Susan and the times we shared over the years even though they were few and far between.
Through the years, we didn’t see each other much because we lived in different parts of the country. But we always kept in touch. When I came home to Wytheville, you lived in Richmond. But in the last 3 years as your health deteriorated you came to Wytheville. I’m sorry that you suffered so. I wish I could have taken your pain away. I love you and miss you Susan. I know I’ll see you again one day! Until then, little sister, go rest high!
All my love, Donna

You had a genuine soul, an infectious laugh, and an unwavering kindness. Our favorite memories are our Sunday dinners at the lake after everyone had gone home...special times!
You will be missed, but will be forever in our hearts!
Love, Chuck & Denise

Thank you Chuck and Denise! We have heard so much about her lake family. Oh, the good times she had there! Part of her ashes were given to Regina Boyd to be spread over Lake Gaston, her happy place. She is resting in peace and out of pain now. Thanks again for being a friend to my sister, Susan!

We ran the yards of the neighborhood, playing tag and more, we shared a love for our brothers, we worked together and remained friends through distance. You will be missed by many but rest my friend and soar through the heavens. To the family, my prayers and condolences on your loss, may you find peace and keep her memories with you always.

Thank you Barbara! Susan talked about the lake all the time. She loved it there and called it her happy place. She had some of her ashes to be spread over the lake at her request when she died. She is out of pain and at peace now. We appreciate the love and prayers!
