Obituary of Ian Marshall Fiorini
Ian Marshall Fiorini, 39, of Wytheville passed away August 30, 2016. Ian was a devoted, loving husband who married his high school sweetheart, Jody Dunford Fiorini, seventeen years ago. Over the past 25 years together, he and Jody shared in everything. They loved to travel, attend music festivals, be outside, and share in the joy of all their wonderful friends and family. After many years of marriage they found their true joy in the birth of their now four-year-old son, Roman. Ian often described Roman as “The best toy he ever had”. Together, he and Roman built toys, wrote and illustrated stories, and rode their bicycles. Ian is also survived by his mother, Ruth Bryant and her partner Raymont Gordon; his father and bonus mother, Kevin and Linda Fiorini; Sister, Amber Fiorini Bird; Brother, CD Hagy; maternal grandfather, Gordon Bryant; and Uncle, Allen ‘Boomer’ Farmer. His much loved extended family includes his father and mother-in-law, Perry & Brenda Dunford; Brothers & Sisters-in-law, Chip & Sally Dunford and Christi & Shannon Kincer. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, who he loved tremendously: Mackenzie Kincer, Jesse Kincer, Ben Kincer, and Molly Dunford. Ian was a graduate of George Wythe High School and Emory & Henry College. He and Jody formerly owned Tree Hugger’s Outdoor and Ian went on to own his own oil field consulting company working as a directional driller. He loved all things outdoor including biking, rock climbing, snowboarding, and just being. He was a voracious reader and a full time thinker. He had an answer for every question, and if he didn’t he made one up. He will be loved and missed forever by all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Wytheville Golf Club on Sunday, Sept 4th, from 3-6. In lieu of flowers and in loving memory of Ian, donations may be made to the Roman Fiorini Educational Fund, 1640 W. Fulton St., Wytheville, VA 24382, where cards and well wishes will also be received.
Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
