Obituary of Hazel Virginia Smelser Wolford

Hazel Virginia Smelser Wolford, age 92 of Wytheville, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Rex and Ethel Smelser, a member of Galilee Christian Church and a member of the Virginia Rebekah Lodge #1. Preceded in death by her husband, Walker L. Wolford: son, James (Jim) Wolford; grandson, Jeremy Wolford; sister, Evelyn Robinson; brothers, Clyde, Everett, Ralph, and Wayne Smelser. Hazel is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Dickie Puckett, Bristol, Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Joyce Wolford, Robert and Leslie Wolford of Wytheville, three grandchildren, Heath and Terrie Wolford of Lakeland Ga:, Jessica and Anthony Nolan of Huntersville, NC:, Carrie Lynne Wolford of Blacksburg, Va. Seven great grandchildren, Walker, Austen, Carlie, Drake and Kaylee Wolford, Richard and Little Hazel Nolan. Sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth Jones, Lillian Turner, Shirley Umberger, Barbara and Jerry Smith, Patsy and Billie Jonas, and Velma Eddy. Brother and sisters-in-law, Roger and Donna Smelser, Shirley Cline Smelser. Special Friend, Alisha Harnage; several nieces & nephews also survive. Graveside service will be private.
