Obituary of Julian James Jackson

Baby Julian James Jackson Julian James Jackson, aged 23 days, passed in his parents’ arms at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC on October 6, 2016. After a hard battle with complications from Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), Julian passed gently into the arms of Jesus. Julian is the son of Lauren and Trey Jackson of Wytheville, VA. During Julian’s brief visit on earth, he enjoyed being read to, having his little head rubbed, and snuggling with his soft baby toys. Julian was shown tremendous love while his strength inspired many throughout his journey. Julian is preceded in death by his great-grand parents, Sam and Peggy James, as well as John Julian Jackson. He is survived by his maternal grandparents, Bobby and Teresa James, as well as his paternal grandparents, Terry and Jeannie Dunford; maternal great grandparents Linda and James Umberger, paternal great grandmother Glenna Jackson, Nancy Hibbs; Uncles Caleb Dunford, Dillon Dunford, and Craig James; Aunt Megan James; Great Aunts and Uncles Becki and Stephen James, Sherry and Jeff Mabe, Shelby and Jeff Crigger, Thomas and Jerri Jackson, and Sandra and Robert Dunford, Ronnie and Shannon Umberger; Great-Great Aunt & Uncle, R.P. and Diane James, along with several cousins and special friends. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and support staff of Duke University Hospital PICU for their incredible care of Julian and the entire family. The family also appreciates all of the prayers and support they have received during Julian’s journey. The family will receive friends at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 4PM until 7PM. A graveside service will be held 2PM Monday, October 10, 2016 at West End Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please send memorials in Julian’s name to the March of Dimes, in memory of Julian Jackson, P.O. Box 1384, Abingdon, VA 24212.
