Obituary of George Jacob Walters

George Jacob Walters age 66, of Wytheville, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. He was born on April 14, 1955 to the late Paul and Winifred Walters. He was preceded in death by a brother Jerry Walters; two sisters, Bettie Walters Patton and Sally Walters Bailey; nephew, Darrell Bailey. George was an avid hunter and fisherman. George was special to everyone he met. He was a member of the Stage Road Chapel. Survivors include his sister, Clara Walters Williams of Wytheville; brother-in-law, Richard Bailey of Hawkinsville, GA; Herbie Patton of Wytheville; sister-in-law, Hope Walters of Wytheville; nieces and nephews, Willis, Lucy, Jennifer, Jane, J.J., Shelia, Kay, C.J., & Brandi; great nieces and nephews, Kayla, Theron, Bergandy, Abby, Jacob, Robbie, Tony, & Paula; and several great-great nieces and nephews; and many friends. Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Stage Road Chapel with Tim Cregger and Pastor Chad Dunford officiating. Interment will follow in the West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church from 1 P.M. until service time. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Stage Road Chapel or charity of your choice.
