Obituary of Fred Lee Hunt

Fred Lee “Hippie” Hunt, age 66, of Wytheville, passed away at his home on October 21, 2016, after a long illness. He was the son of the late James Garfield and Eleanor Hunt and preceded in death by his brother, Harry Hunt. Fred worked for V.D.O.T. for over 30 years as a surveyor and retired in 2009. He is survived by his wife, Jan L. Hunt of Wytheville; brother, James Hunt of Bristol, VA; sister, Brenda Hunt Sanchez of Chilhowie; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law also survive. Fred leaves behind many fond memories of his life, he enjoyed spending time with his family and never met a stranger he always had a smile on his face. Fred was remembered during a small service at his home by family members. The family is asking for donations in Fred’s memory to be sent to his wife Jan Hunt to help with financial difficulties, donations can be sent to Jan Hunt at 395 N. 26th St. Wytheville, VA 24382. Grubb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
