Obituary of Roy Clifford Snavely

Roy Clifford Snavely, age 88, of Wytheville passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. Roy was born on October 1, 1933 to the late Malcolm Terry and Stella Gullion Snavely. He was preceded by his wife Ora Lee Rouse Snavely and a brother, Donald Snavely and a sister Mildred Pafford. Roy was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, a veteran of the United States Army and United States Air Force and a retired VDOT employee. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Robin Snavely of Wytheville; stepson and wife, Randy and Barbara Blevins of Clemmons, NC; a sister, Frances Hester of Marion; two grandchildren, Justin and Sidnee Snavely; two step grandchildren, Wendy and Rodney Blevins; step great grandchild, Riley Griffen; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11 A.M. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the Mt Pleasant United Methodist Church with the Reverend Doug Silvers and Reverend Joe Mack Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with the American Legion Post #9 conducting Military Rites.
