Obituary of James David Hensley
James David Hensley, age 79 of Speedwell, VA, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022, at his home after a long and well lived life. David (Judd) enjoyed his family and friends and was always the brightest smile in the room. He was well respected in his field of work, loved and encouraged others and always had something positive to say. Judd loved the outdoors to include hunting, fishing and camping. His prized possession was a model train his wife purchased for him as a gift. Judd was only scared of three types of snakes: a live snake, a dead snake, and a crooked stick that looked like a snake. Most of all he loved God and the Bible.
David is preceded in death by his loving parents Bill and Anna Mae Hensley and is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn Lorena Hale Hensley; daughter Mary Lorena Hensley-Sweeney; daughter Genice Ann Hensley Mingus Holley; grandsons Cameron Gregory Sweeney, James David Hensley II, Stephen Mark Mingus II, Conley Brown Mingus; brothers Teddy Hensley; siblings Alma Dean England, Becky Mullins, Brenda Simpson Moore, Sissy Morin, Kenny Hensley, Nolita Harris, Jamie Lee Hensley. Other special additions to the family to include, Dale LeGrande, Mike Ramsey, Jeff Mitchum and many more “adopted” children and friends.
