Obituary of Edith Davis Wright

Edith Davis Wright, age 86, of Wytheville passed away Friday, November 11, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Claude & Gladys Davis. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Darnell Roope; sisters, Lois Wichael (Jim), Alleta Bowman (Edward), Lorine Matz (Sanders). Edith is survived by her husband, Joe Wright of Wytheville; daughters & son-in-law, Laura & Bobby St. Clair of Roanoke, Kim Babcock of Wytheville; sons & daughter-in-law, Doug Roope & Lora Hastings of Wytheville, Terry & Kate Wright of Princeton, WV; sister, Marie Lambert of Pulaski; brothers, Franklin Davis of Little Creek, Gerald Davis of Little Creek; grandchildren, Addison Roope, Jordan Roope, Ashlyn St. Clair, Bradley St. Clair, Danielle Babcock, Elizabeth Wright. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Funeral service will be held 7 P.M. Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Reverend Aubrey Whitlow. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 P.M. until service time. A graveside service will be held 2P.M. Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Goshen Cemetery in Spur Branch.
