Phillip Snapp

Obituary of Phillip Bradley Snapp

On December 12, 2022, Phillip Bradley “Brad” Snapp age 54, of Wytheville, experienced a heavenly reunion with his father, and best friend, Phylip “Phyl” Dwight Snapp. Brad was born in Richlands, Virginia on June 25, 1968, and never hesitated to tell those around him that he was born “six months from Christmas to the day.” Along with Phyl, Brad was born to Patricia Thompson Snapp who lovingly called her son “Bradley.” His mother, Patricia Thompson Snapp is among the many that will hold Brad’s memory close to their hearts. Brad’s legacy lives on through the love of his life, Heidi Vaught of Wytheville. Brad showed Heidi unconditional love, the same love he showed each of his children. Brad was a selfless father and his devotion to his children was well-known throughout the community. Lauren and Grant Milgrim, Austin Tolbert, Autumn Vaught, Alex Vaught, and Ashlynn Vaught hold tight to the memories that they have with their father. One of the newest titles that Brad earned and one of the titles that brought him the most joy is being “Pop Pop” to Lauren and Grant’s daughter, Brynlee Grae Milgrim, and the new baby boy that the couple is expecting in April of next year. Brad also shared a special bond with each employee at S&W fertilizer, spending a lot of time by each of their sides. In 1986, Brad graduated from George Wythe High School and pursued an associate degree in Business and Accounting from Wytheville Community College, graduating in 1988. From there, Brad became one of the proudest Hokies, graduating from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy in 1990. Brad immediately joined his father in dedicating his career to his family’s business, S&W Fertilizer Seed and Chemical Company, Inc. Brad loved the work he did and the man that taught him to do it, he often was known to say that “it was one of the only careers that allowed you to four-wheel all day.” When he wasn’t working hard, Brad enjoyed spending time with his beloved family. Phyl introduced him to Lionel trains at a young age and his collection grew almost daily. Pontiac GTOs filled Brad’s heart and his garages. He is remembered as a kind, gentle, and generous man who was always eager to help others. Brad’s involvement in his community was plenty, serving on Wytheville Community College’s Education Foundation Board from 1998-2003. Brad’s service to Wytheville Community College didn’t end there as he was a member of the Scholarship Foundation since 2012, serving as the Vice President most recently. Brad also was a proud member of the Lions club - known by the community for his role of co-chair at the club’s biggest fundraiser, the carnival. Phyl and Brad found enjoyment in spending time together serving their community and could be found in the “Spill the Milk” tent every year. The family will receive friends from 5 PM to 7 PM on Friday, December 16th at All Nations Church. Brad, Bradley, Son, Life Partner, Dad, and Pop Pop will be honored at 2 PM on Saturday, December 17, 2022, with the Reverend Craig Caylor officiating his funeral service at All Nations Church. Brad will be laid to rest at West End Cemetery in Wytheville following the service and all are welcome to join the family at this moment. Flowers are appreciated or donations can be made to the Wytheville Lions Club PO Box 291, Wytheville, VA 24382.
