Obituary of Joseph Edmond Henderson

Joseph Edmond “Eddie” Henderson, age 75, of Bland, went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 15, 2016. He was the son of the late Joe and Beulah Umberger Henderson. Eddie lived in Bland County, Virginia and loved his community. He was born in Wytheville and resided in Salem before moving to the country. Eddie was ready to go home and see all of his family and friends who had passed before him, and was anxious to see his wife Dorothy Harrell Henderson who passed in 1983. He is survived by his children, Kathy Henderson Peters, Karen Henderson Letcher, David Edmond Henderson; sisters, Doris Henderson Umberger, Jean Henderson Hurst; brother, Charles Douglas Henderson; grandchildren, Michael Allen Gerald, Kassidy Alexander Peters, Dustin Lee Letcher, Raymond Keith Childress, Kayla Renee Childress; great grandchildren, James Michael Dudley, Hunter Chare Arrington, MaKayla Nicole Childress, MacKenzie Renee Childress; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 4PM Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Pastor Linda Hale. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3PM until service time. A graveside service will held at 2PM Monday, December 19, 2016 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Rd. N.W. Roanoke, VA 24012. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
