Obituary of Gary Wayne Dunford

Gary Wayne Dunford, age 66, of Max Meadows, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023. Born in Wythe Co. to the late James Sterlin Dunford and Bertha Dean Dunford. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Mildred Edwards, Janice Rogers, Mimie Freeman, Wanda Smith; three brothers Lee Roy Dunford, Thomas Albert Dunford , Kenneth Dunford; his love for many years Dottie Moore. Survivors include two brothers, James Buford and Ronnie Dunford; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Hospice of Southwest Virginia, Blue Ridge Cancer Center in Blacksburg, VA; his niece Vickie Burnett and husband Jon Burnett who have been his caregivers for several months. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the home of his brother, James at 1718 Locust Hill Road – Max Meadows, VA 24360.
