Obituary of Carol West Aker

Carol West Aker, age 61, of Max Meadows, passed away on May 3, 2023. She was born on March 4, 1962 in Ottawa, IL to the late Forrest and Janice West. She was preceded in death by her brother, Forrest “Moose” West. Carol enjoyed reading and being a mother figure to many in the Fort Chiswell Band and to many of her son’s friends. She survived by her husband, William Jerry Aker and son, Westley Phillip Aker both of Fort Chiswell; two daughters, Breann Nicole Proffit and Brittany Kay Duvall both of Wytheville; two stepchildren, Jason Aker of Crockett; Savannah Aker of Huddle; nine grandchildren, McKinley Raibley, Elijah Nuckles, Kaydence Nuckles, Kyleigh Raibley, Lakota Proffitt, Malakai Proffitt, Joseph Aker, Hannah Aker and Kimi Aker; sister, Connie Sue Campbell of NC; brother-in-law, Clarence Campbell of NC; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the Grubb Funeral Home with the Reverend Donn Sunshine officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital -262 Danny Thomas Place -Memphis, TN 38105.
