Kelsey was truly a beautiful soul who cared for everyone around her. She touched the lives of so many people and worked hard for everything she achieved. I could only dream of having the ambition she used to reach her goals. I remember doing cross-country with her and running beside her during practices. Her smile and encouragement gave me comfort on hard days, and I still carry that with me. She will always be a shaper of my heart and live on in so many people’s memories. God bless her family, you are all in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your beautiful Kelsey. I teach English at Radford, and though Kelsey was not my student, she sounds exactly like the kind of person who made Radford--and the world--a much better place. She left a wonderful legacy in her 22 years of life, and I pray that God provides His peace and comfort to all who loved Kelsey during this difficult time.

When I heard this I was so heartbroken for her family. I didn't know her but she sounds like a REMARKABLE young woman. She accomplished so much in her short life. It was mentioned that she was like her grandmother, but we know she developed that kindness and desire to help others from the upbringing she received at home. My deepest sympathy goes out to Robbie, Michelle, and Chloe. This is a sad and heartbreaking time. Kelsey will always have a special place in my heart. I will always remember the times Michelle would bring Kelsey to Carroll County High School. Little Kelsey would come to my office and sit on my lap. We would look and point at all the stuffed animals I had sitting on my shelves. Her favorite was an Elvis Gorilla which would sing "Burning Love." She loved watching the gorilla dance and sing. She would have biggest smile on her face. I will always treasure those times in my office with this sweet little girl. They will stay dear to my heart until I leave this earth. Robbie and Michele, if you need anything, I am always here for you. The Patton family was and still is an important part of my life. I love you guys and will have you in my thoughts and prayers.

We did not know this beautiful young lady but our hearts are broken for all her family, especially her Mom and Dad and sister. Reading her obituary was just amazing and all her many accomplishments which will be lasting and have made a big difference. We are so sorry for your loss. Kelsey was a beautiful spirited young lady. She was the epitome of a genuine and sincere person. The void her loss has left will never be filled, however, her love, compassion, kindness & gentle spirit will always remain. The senior quote she chose at FCHS was well defining of her character--"I have come to love myself for who I am, for who I was, and for who I hope to be"- that was apparent to all who knew her. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Kelsey was a kind-hearted young woman. She had nothing but love and passion in her soul. My condolences go to Mr. and Mrs. Patton, as well as Chloe. Kelsey and I played basketball together in High School. She was always the type of teammate who would encourage me to continue when I made a mistake on the court. Kelsey excelled as an athlete and as a student and I knew she will continue to do great things. The passion she had towards school and helping others was amazing to see.
