Obituary of Herman Tarter Dillon

Herman Tarter Dillon, age 94, of Wytheville, passed away August 15, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Carl Edwin, Sr. & Janie Tarter Dillon , served in the United States Army and the co-owner of Dillon’s IGA. Mr. Dillon was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Shepherd Dillon, two brothers, Ed and C. J. Dillon. He is survived by son & daughter-in-law, Bruce & Phyllis Dillon of Wytheville; grandson & spouse, Mark & Zella Dillon of Wytheville; granddaughter & spouse, Kay & Ray Blevins of Wytheville; great grandchildren, Graham Dillon, Max Dillon, Channing Blevins, Benson Blevins all of Wytheville; sister-in-law, Mary M. Dillon of Max Meadows; three nieces & 1 nephew; caregiver & special friend, Kenneth Davis of Wytheville; all friends at Lowes. Funeral Service will held at 7 PM, Tuesday August 16, 2016 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by The Reverend Brad Simpson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 PM until service time. A graveside service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at East End Cemetery, American Legion Post # 9 will conduct military graveside services.
